A few wild plants were picked at the base of Mount Ventoux (The Giant of Provence), others were picked in La Drome and The Alps, afterward they were carefully steam distillated in a still. And thus the first PROPHEDIET essential oils were born.
Then Jean Paul Pignide encouraged some of his farmer friends to cultivate organic plants. It was still a marginal activity at the time but he understood the need and the vital importance for the future.
The first PROPHEDIET laboratory was installed in a room in his house, in the middle of Olive trees and Lavender fields.
It was in this picturesque and fragrant place that the first compositions of essential oils, massage oils and essential oil diffusers from PROPHEDIET were created. These products promptly enjoyed an outstanding success in France and abroad (Switzerland, Belgium, Japan and Taiwan).
Other essential oils were added to his line of products during the following years, as well as floral waters, shampoos, bath and shower gels…etc.
Each new product matches the same quality and purity criteria of the first products ever made. They are carefully elaborated, controlled and verified.
Despite its success, PROPHEDIET preserves its authenticity. The company remains a family like structure. Brigitte, his wife, manages the client orders. Gladys, his daughter, is in charge of the professional shows that PROPHEDIET has attended regularly for more than 15 years.
In 1997, PROPHEDIET expanded its offices and its laboratory. The company moved to Gavarret Sur Aulouste, a little village in the Gers in the Southwest of France. Two other employees work with the family: Richard a Biochemist, controls the production, and Nadia is his assistant for packaging and preparations.
Today, PROPHEDIET is known throughout the world. Jean Paul Pignide introduces people to Aromatherapy as far away as Taiwan, but he prefers to live with his family in the serenity of his countryside.
The vigilance he takes in choosing the quality of plants for PROPHEDIET products is the same as the first day when the first drop of lavender essential oil came out of the still.
